How You Can Help

Our fundraiser depends on corporate and individual generosity. The demands on Help On The Homefront and New York Warrior Alliance programs are increasing daily. We have more and more veterans and their families and families of our fallen that are in crisis and in need of our help. We receive referrals from many different sources such as government and veteran programs that are overwhelmed and their programs cannot help, which is why we step in. If we don't, these veterans and their families may in some cases not make it. Their needs are immediate; they cannot wait for the bureaucratic paperwork nightmare or for a determination that there is no help available for their situation. They have already given so much. Now it's our turn to help them.

All donations, whether corporate or individual, are tax deductible!

Individual Donations

No donation is too small - any amount will help us reach this year's goal.

Volunteer Opportunities

In addition to monetary donations, a donation of your time is also valuable to the success of our event. There are many opportunities and varieties of assistance needed. Most of these assignments allow the volunteers to participate in the memorial ride as well as the other activities at the event.

Ride Registration - Registration begins at 10am. Ride Registration desk personnel need to be at the Greece Post on Dorsey Rd at 9:30am to set up the registration table and then collect the money, process the sign in sheets, and hand out the wrist bands and meal tickets. Specific responsibilities will be assigned the day of the event. You will be able to go on the ride.
Set Up Crew - Need to be at the Greece Post at 9:30am to set up all tables and chairs (first the registration/ticket area and then the tables/chairs under the tent), set out garbage containers with liners, and possibly rope off an area for an entryway to the event. You will be able to go on the ride. For any persons staying at the event, we will need people to put paper table cloth material on tables.
Parking (morning) - Need to be at the Greece Post at 9:30am so that you can direct parking appropriate for ride departure. You will be able to go on the ride.
Parking (event) - Need to start at 1:30pm (prior to ride return). Requires giving directions for all attendee parking and for placement of returning motorcycles and vehicles. Direct band members and authorized personnel to reserved parking area. If going on the ride, you will need to depart ride return early to be back at the Legion by 1:30 p.m.
Food Service Area - We need Ticket Collectors for the food line. You will be making sure the line is orderly and that everyone in line has a ticket for food. NO EXCEPTIONS. No cooking or handling of food is involved.
Raffles - Requires two people to work the crowds as a team selling tickets. You will be able to go on the ride. Ticket sales are morning before the ride and when the ride returns.
Tear Down Crew - Able bodied people to help tear down all tables and chairs and place trash in dumpster.
Recycle/Trash Containers - Need people to monitor recycle bins and trash containers, empty containers when full, and replace liners. All recyclables will be processed and refunds donated back to the event. You will be able to go on the ride.

The more people we have to volunteer for each assignment the faster the job will get done and the shorter time each person will have to work a shift, which will allow each person to eat, attend the event ceremony, and enjoy the entertainment. MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK.

Thank you in advance for donating your time to help make this event a success.

PGRNY Volunteer Opportunities

Patriot Guard Riders of New York are always looking for new members who join us in Standing For Those Who Stood For Us. Attending Missions and standing Flag Lines are great ways to honor the veterans who have served our country and to pay them the respect they deserve at the end of their days. However, there are many more ways to give back to the men and women that have served in our military while they are still with us and are in need of help. As a member, not only can you stand flag line at veterans' funerals; but you may volunteer at events such as our Annual Heroes Run, other fundraiser events we sponsor and administrative support positions. Visit our website at pgrny.org for more information.
